Quiz Clothing is a dynamic high street fashion retailing chain with fifty stores nationwide. A legacy retail management system had not kept pace with the company’s strategy of rapid growth and a replacement for this was urgently needed.

After investigating a number of options, Quiz selected M Computer Technologies to deploy the Maeko Fashion system throughout its organisation. The system was able to deliver the full range of business functions required, and had the power and flexibility to support Quiz as it grew and developed. Important factors in Quiz’ choice were MCT’s ability to supply both hardware and software and a willingness to maintain the old system for as long as was necessary through their Zero-Downtime Migration process.

To avoid disruption to the company’s operations, implementation of the Maeko Fashion system had to be carried out over a period of time. New retail outlets were first equipped with the Maeko hardware and software and then existing stores were gradually transferred to the system over a six-month period. At each stage, MCT made sure that existing business functions could continue on the new system with minimum amount of retraining and uninterrupted communication was maintained with the legacy system at Head Office. Finally the Head Office system was smoothly and successfully converted to Maeko Fashion.

Quiz has ambitious expansion plans in progress, which involve franchising and overseas expansion. Maeko Fashion's Franchise and Independent Business Unit modules have proven invaluable in this process.
